In March of 2024, a dangerous threat situation took place at French Prairie Middle School in Woodburn, Oregon. Law enforcement was summoned, and the student body was in lockdown for several hours. During that time, Liam Summarell, an acknowledged peer leader and friend to all, helped to calm other students, provide support, and lead prayers through an anxious 4 hours. It was not the first time Liam had shown such kindness and remarkable leadership in positively impacting the lives of his fellow students. It is for this reason the Wade J. Woodmark Foundation has chosen Liam to receive its WJWF Hero Award.
