I consider myself a contemporary impressionist. Painting very directly, I place colors with very little pre-mixing on the palette. Emotion plays an important role in every painting; I choose only subjects which call to me and give my work energy and excitement.
Working with 3-dimensional objects is not something I am used to doing. I ended up applying the paint as though onto a canvas to embellish ‘Cotton Candy,’ utilizing my past skills of designing tutus and creating tiaras for the Northwest Classical Ballet.
It was a pleasure to work on this project for such a worthy cause. I’ve never had an issue being inspired. I have more artistic ideas than I have time.
“I will let the critics decide if they love it or hate it. And while they’re deciding, I will make even more art.”
~ Andy Warhol
