I have a unique style when I paint. I like to call it ‘flying by the seat of my pants’ – I don’t plan; I just paint. I honestly feel the less I think, the better I paint.
Growing up, everyone thought I would become a veterinarian, because I loved animals so much. Now, even when I’m not painting an animal, they still show up hidden in my abstract paintings – they always find a way to come out.
I am a Christian artist, in that I follow Jesus and do my best to paint what glorifies Him. I had my nieces – three future artists – help me paint the base. I felt like their hope and joy and innocence helped me on this project, and we all felt a child-like faith which guided us as we worked. “How do I feel about my pony? I love it and want to keep it!
“I pray that gentle hands may guide my feet; I ask for commands from voices sweet. At night, a stable warm with scented hay, where, safe from harm, I’ll sleep ‘til day."
