As costumers for a nationally recognized ballet company, ‘Prima’ allowed us to create a version of what we love to do in a setting completely outside our usual realm – something the artists within us embraced as a welcome challenge!
Outside of trying to make a tutu and pointe shoes for a pony, the hardest part of that challenge was in simply deciding who ‘Prima’ would want to be. We discarded versions of the Sugar Plum Fairy from ‘The Nutcracker,’ and Odette or Odile from ‘Swan Lake,’ among others. Ultimately, we decided she’d want to be completely unique, and we believe we accomplished that vision on her behalf.
Anyone who meets ‘Prima’ falls in love with her. We may be biased, but we think she’s beautiful!
